Prince George MAVS Tablet Setup

Download the Prince George field app, print the tablet setup guide, and confirm exactly which files must be copied manually before field work starts.

Important: the Android app download is small and is hosted here. The full offline tablet data package is about 3.2 GB and should be delivered by external drive or a dedicated large-file link. Do not try to replace the manual data package with the APK alone.

Step By Step Tablet Setup

  1. Download and install the Prince George APK from this page.
  2. Get the full offline data package from the external drive or a dedicated large-file package link from Jason.
  3. On the tablet, copy the entire MAVS\PrinceGeorge folder to the tablet internal storage root.
  4. Confirm the tablet has this exact path: Internal storage\MAVS\PrinceGeorge\.
  5. Open the Prince George MAVS app while connected to internet.
  6. Sign in with the worker's assigned MAVS account.
  7. Select the Prince George project and validate the package when prompted.
  8. Confirm the map loads, parcels draw, record-card PDFs open, and region colors appear.
  9. Put the tablet in airplane mode and confirm map, parcels, PDFs, and search still work offline.
  10. Before real field work, turn internet back on and run Daily Update so the tablet has the latest project status.

Large Package Delivery Rule

For first setup, use an external drive whenever possible. It is the most reliable path for the 3.2 GB offline package because it avoids failed browser downloads, half-copied files, and accidental use of the wrong county package.

The record-card PDF ZIP is available above as a separate download because it is much smaller than the full tablet package. It only supplies the PDFs; workers still need parcels-package.json, offline aerials, the manifest, and templates.

If a large-file cloud link is created later for the full package, workers should download it on Wi-Fi, keep the browser open until it finishes, compare the package size or hash, then copy MAVS\PrinceGeorge onto the tablet. If the download fails, restart the download or request the external-drive package.

Do Not Mix Projects

The Prince George app and Mathews app are separate Android packages and use separate storage folders. Keep them that way:

Do not rename folders, do not copy Mathews package files into Prince George, and do not copy Prince George package files into Mathews. The app validates the county manifest to reduce that risk.
